In my weekly 12AM-6AM session of old-school gaming with Hackmaster, This last session my 7th level fighter MacReady has layed his dark sword down.
No longer is he carreening for death and destruction at the beck and will of the bastard sword named "Cutter"-- he now can focus on trying to earn his own reknown WITHOUT his famed blade.
This was a tough decision, but then again, no it wasn't.
I as a player REALLY wanted to keep using that sword (it has served me well enough for the past 6 months, taking for me the heads of a Fire Giant, and Ice Dragon, several trolls and orcs, and numurous other fell beasts.)
Anyway, Lieutenant Commander Collin MacReady of the Burning Fist Company will have to make it on his own skill and abilities...
Which after this past session... I think will be OK.
