Constantine chuckles, though it seems to be targeted towards the two I/E operatives themselves, and not any particular comment--
"Your partner has been a pleasure to have a couple of drinks with-- as you can imagine, there isn't much variety in pretty ladies down in these holes. Least of all this one, full of assholes." Constantine pauses for a moment, taking a swig from his glass tumbler.
"In answer to your question Roanoke," He hesitates slightly at saying the codename, so utterly informal at just meeting someone. "Business is not at it's best-- and not all of it is tied in with Hadley's murder. My escavation operation is on hold until Yankowski gives the go ahead. That means that we will soon be behind schedule, and at that time I will begin to lose money. Add that to the way that the Nibelung employees have been acting towards my men? Let's just say, I've been on better gigs." Constantine doesn't raise his voice, but the unconcealed sarcasm cannot be missed.
He rocks his glass in a circle, swishing his drink around. His ice clanks against the glass.

Roanoke listens to Constantine with his ears as well as his eyes; his intent gaze remaining locked with that of his fellow conversationalist. His eyes calm, but not without a degree of resolve, Roanoke waits in utter silence while Constantine explains his troubles to him.
When Constantine is done giving his story, Roanoke speaks. He says, "I don't know if it'd do any good coming from me, but if you'd like, I could try to put in a word with Yankowski about seeing if you could start up operations again. And if you're experiencing a lot of trouble with the locals, then let me ask you these questions. Are these people doing anything destructive to sabotage your efforts here or is their resistance more of a passive kind of thing? And if it's the former, then would you be willing to tell me who these people are so we can question them? My team members and I will need to research any and all leads in order to bring this investigation to a quick and timely conclusion. And that, Mr. Constantine, would be to everyone's advantage, including yours."

Halo has a particularly long drag from her cigarette. Her pursed lips tight around the filter creating a vacuum which in turns sets the dull burning ember at the end a bright cherry red. Removing the filter from her mouth she exhales long and slow, the cloud of smoke billowing in on itself. She turns to Roanoke with a lazy look in her eyes. "That is a kind gesture Roanoke, but unless it is part of our investigation, we really should stay out of their politics. Our influence is better served otherwise."

Roanoke lets out the impatient sigh of one who has grown tired of having to explain himself in such a wordy and incessant fashion.
With an exasperated flutter of the eyelids, Roanoke draws in a deep breath of the cigarette-polluted air, exhales and responds to Halo, "I don't think you're seeing the bigger picture here, Halo. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it might be wise to let Mr. Constantine tell us who has been giving him and his cohorts flack. It's my belief that any such individuals would be worth questioning in conjunction with this investigation. It seems the only proper thing to do in order to cover all the bases. That is, of course, unless you've been a good girl and gone over all this with Mr. Constantine during your little happy hour get together."
Roanoke assumes a stolid stance and crosses his arms over his chest, his raven black eyes staring out from their receded sockets, awaiting Halo's reply.

Halo droops her head slightly, closes her eyes and raises her arms lazily at the elbow in mock surrender. "Do what you like, I am going to my trailer for a much overdue shower." She opens her eyes and lets her arms down while turning to meet Constantine. She offers her hand and a smile. "It was a pleasure meeting you Mr. Constantine and I am sure we will run into each other again. I apologize for my brash attitude toward your dilemma but I am certain you understand my perspective. The less we have our hands in, the less complicated things will be."

"We all have our problems-- No worries." Constantine replied from his drink.
The drinking hole had begun to fill up. Various small groups of Nibelung employees had filtered in, and they sit around tables or the bar.
A quick guestimate gives a rough 20 head count. Most in groups of threes or fours.
Classic and Modern tunes have been playing on the digital touch screen jukebox nestled up next to the bar.
