Halo, lead by Morse and Reaver, steps into the open elevator. With a wink and a smile she gives Roanoke and Yankowski a mock wave.
Reaver presses the button, and the inner grated doors close shut , followed by the exterier steel doors.
Then the elevator begins it's ascension.

Halo taps her foot on the metal floor of the elevator. Her eyes widen briefly as she realizes what she is doing and ceases. She leans up against a rail and makes conversation with Morse and Reaver. "So how long have you guys worked for Constantine?"

The steady hum of the moving elevator continues, echoing up and down the shaft.
"Well, Reaver here's been with Constantine since day one... about five years now, right?" Morse looks towards Reaver for acknowledgment. Reaver gives him a nod in answer.
Morse leans up against the wall next to Halo.
"I'm the rookie, you could say." Morse says with a smile. "Under a year, but things are working out real nice for me. Good pay. Great benefits. I guess the only bad part is being stuck underground for so long... having to look at Reaver's moustache!"
Reaver attempts to conceal a smile in order to look angry, but ends up laughing along with Morse.

Halo joins in the laugh at Reaver's expense. With a final chuckle, she turns to Morse. "So has Constantine always worked with Nibelung or has this union just happened recently?"

The elevator begins to slow. Halo can sense the next stop approaching. The other two notice it too, as if a mild sense of relief had come.
"We've been working with your company now, for 'proximitely three years now." Reaver said. "We've got some special gizmos made just for us by Nibelung."
"Yeah, you should see me behind the 'Betty'-- that thing tears shit up!" Morse interjected, very enthusiastic.

Halo raises an eyebrow in interest. "Betty? I hope it is safe to assume that this is some peice of machinery you are talking about and not some rowdy woman." She slips Morse a wry grin as the elevator creeps towards it's stop.

"Yeah, sure is--" Morse says with a smile. "But she ain't just a piece of machinery. The Betty is a high-tech, top of the line, robotic mining suit."
The elevator shudders to an abrupt halt. The sound of heavy clamps locking down, and released air are heard from outside of the car.
" Designed by Constantine & Nibelung. Built by Nibelung." Reaver adds as the two sets of doors open.

"A robotic mining suit you say?" Halo's grin dissappears slowly. "Was that designed and built in this facility or elsewhere?" The doors to the elevator open and Halo's head turns quickly to the sounds of shouting and yelling. She faces Morse and Reaver and says sternly. "Get down." Her hand dissappears quickly into her jacket, returning with her .50 cal Desert Eagle. She sets the gun on the metal grate and pulls her head set to her radio from another pocket adjusting it and putting it on her head. She turns it on, but doesnt key the mic. "Listen, I am a paranoid freak, this could be nothing and this could be something. If something, take cover. If nothing we laugh later and I buy you guys a drink." She picks up her gun and brings it to a ready position in front of her. Her thumb drops the safety.

"Aw Christ." mutters Reaver.
Halo looks out into the new level. At first, she doesn't see anything to accompany the continued shouts and yelling.
The area of this floor is significantly more "open" than the residential level she and the two miners had just been at.
As with before, the flooring here was also made up of elevated metal grating.
Morse, leaping out of the elevator, points towards the east (the characters' 'left') "I think I just saw someone go running that way, towards the commissary!"

Halo raises her hand. She puts her finger to her lips. "Take cover and keep quiet." Her eyes dart around to assess the situation. "And get out of the elevator. If I dont end up oweing you a drink, I plan on calling my team mates for back up and they are gonna need that." She looks back, her heart racing, senses racing and adrenaline pumping. Through it all she manages a quick smile and a wink at Morse and Reaver. She then darts into the shadows to the left of the lift, towards the unknown.

Both men exit the elevator-- and as soon as they do, it's dual doors close, and the elevator leaves the floor to go back down.
Halo, moves as stealthily as her booted feet allow her considering the grated floor.
This floor, not being designated for sleeping, is much brighter than Halo had initially expected. She sticks close to the northern face of the craggy wall. She finds herself an area where there are heavy shadows, located between the northern wall, and a vertical climbing chuck of stone that goes from cave floor to cave ceiling. Fortunately, the area behind it still has a grated floor.
From this vantage point, Halo sees the source of the commotion taking place roughly 40 feet away.
There seems to be a small gathering of people-- approximately 7 or 8, filling the area within one of the manmade tunnels. They are yelling and shouting at two men, who seem hell bent on beating each other senseless.

Halo narrows her eyes and mutters a curse in japanese. She holsters her gun and steps from the shadows, but keeps her presence subdued. Once behind one of the rabble she speaks up. "What is this all about?" She watches the two men beat each other with keen interest.

Halo's query goes unanswered, as the pair fighting suddenly crash within feet of where Halo and two other people had just been standing.
A black guy near Halo yelling, "Nitz! Are you crazy?!" Others seem to be encouraging the fight, but all of that seems to stop the moment a large mountain of a man steps from outside the surounding ring of spectators, and grabs one of the two combatants by his collar, jerking him back.
The man, not quite yet fully subdued, looks as if to hit the larger man, but suddenly stops, his face showing a sudden fear. The bigger man saying, "The day you strike me Nitz will be the last day that you walk on this earth with both your legs."
The other combatant, seeing a break in the action, runs up as if to get the jump on the man he'd been fighting with. The larger man extends his arm in a flash of cloth, catches the other man in the chest straight-arm. The othe man, falls heavily to the grated floor.
All of this takes just a few seconds.
Halo hears the sounds of hurried footsteps approaching from behind, from the area she'd just recently come from.

Halo sighs in disappointment as she realizes she owes Morse and Reaver a drink. Her cheeks flush briefly with embarressment. She scans the crowd with disinterest. "A bar fight..." She shakes her head slowly and turns to face the racing footsteps, already assuming who it is. "Yeah yeah, I know I owe you a drink. . ."

Three men dressed in the navy blue security uniform of the Fafner's Lair Facility push past her, and into the fifteen foot wide stone hall.
One of them, a blonde guy with an exagerated jaw steps forward into the center of the gathering, and right up to Carpenter and his man.
"What's going on here, Carpenter?"
Carpenter releases his hold on his miner, and straightens up to roughly 6'3" at Halo's best guess. His green eyes the color of sea foam and burning with anger and intensity. "I would like to know what's going on here as well." He states looking at no one in particular, but clearly it was intended for his man.
"Sorry sir." The man refered to as 'Nitz' responded. He was about to continue when the other combatant stepped forward.
"I'll inform you as to what had transpired!" This man had dark brown hair, a prominent nose, and eyebrows to match. Halo noticed his security badge had a green stripe on it. "This filfth assaulted me, while I was reading the newspaper inside the commissary proper." He brushes dirt, real or imagined from his shirtsleeves.
"Okay, Nitz. Let's go." The blonde guard responded.
"That's BULLSHIT!!!" Nitz yelled. "You're gonna just fucking take his fucking word for what happened?! He fucking sucker-punched me when I stepped out here."
